Everyone likes a good deal, but what about when it comes at an expense.  Cosmetics are a tricky thing because of their closeness to your face and eyes, it is very important to make sure that the products are safe.  Finding natural products that contain allantoin, bentonite or Dead Sea minerals will help you look your best, but without consequence.   On the contrary it is important to make sure that your makeup does not contain such harmful ingredients such as mercury.  This is not to say that all inexpensive makeup is filled with horrible ingredients or that all expensive makeup is good for your skin.  It is just important that you are informed of the good ingredients and why.

 

Starting with allantoin, also known as Aldioxa, Vitamin U or Alcloxa.  This is a harmless dermatological agent that is often found in cosmetics and is also used for burns, blemishes, abrasions eczema and more.  Therefore if you find this in your foundation or blush, you know you are on the right track.

 

Another amazing ingredient that you should be happy to find in your favorite cosmetics is calcium carbonate.  Also known as precipitated chalk, it is often used to provide the matt finish to your makeup.  It also great at oil absorbing, making it extra perfect for people with oily skin.

 

There are many different forms of magnesium but our two favorites are magnesium myristate and stearate.  Magnesium myristate is also good for oily skin as it has strong absorbing properties.  As well it can be used to disinfect, which is great for acne and blemished skin.  Being 100% FDA approved as a good makeup ingredient, this is definitely one to look out for.

 

There are plenty more minerals that are important to look out for, and the list can be very extensive and daunting.  This is why we suggest that you start with Dead Sea minerals.  This is still a very long list but it will help to narrow down your research.  If you are lucky enough to have access to Dead Sea cosmetics, this is also a great place to start.  By doing your research and picking trusted and safe brands you and your skin will be thankful in now time.
